13.04.2013 Böju - Troia

Heute Morgen um 9 Uhr war ich bereit für meine Reise und wurde pünktlich von Tobias abgeholt. 45 Minuten später trafen wir schon im Flughafen Zürich ein, es hatte praktisch keinen Verkehr unterwegs.

This morning at 9 am I was ready for departure and Tobias came to pick me up on time. 45 minutes later we arrived at the airport of Zürich, we had almost no traffic on the way.

Das Web Check-in hatte ich gestern schon zuhause gemacht und erhielt den Sitz 1A für meinen Business Flug, den ich kurzfristig am Donnerstag Abend mit meinen Meilen eingelöst hatte. Und auch hier am Flughafen in Zürich-Kloten wurde das Terminal 1 endlich umstrukturiert, so dass quasi keine Wartezeiten mehr bestehen!

Ich vertrieb meine Zeit bis zum Abflug mit einer Zufuhr von Vitaminen (frisch gepressten Orangensaft), klapperte alle Duty Free Geschäfte ab und kaufte mir einen irischen Whiskey (Bushmills) als Birdiewasser?! ; )

I had already checked in by Internet yesterday and received the seat 1A for my business flight, which I had booked only Thursday night with my miles. There were almost no waiting times at the airport of Zürich anymore as the finally had managed to rearranged terminal 1 here!

The time until departure I spent with an input of vitamins (fresh squeezed orange juice) and shopping around the duty free shops where I bought a bottle of Irish Whiskey (Bushmills) in case I play golf birdies?! ; )

Mit einer Verspätung von fast einer Stunde starteten wir endlich kurz vor 13 Uhr und ich genoss die Vorzüge der Business Klasse in vollen Zügen...

With a day of almost one hour we finally took off shortly before 1 pm and I fully enjoyed all the benefits flying business class...

Mit einer halben Stunde Verspätung kamen wir um 14:30 Uhr in Lissabon an. Ich holte mein Gepäck und ging zur Autovermietung Budget Rent a Car und hatte wieder Glück: Ich erhielt ein Upgrade, einen grossen Seat Ibiza, wo garantiert all mein Gepäck inklusive Golfsack Platz hat!

We landed with half an hour delay at 2:30 pm at Lisbon. I collected my luggage and went to pick up my rental car at Budget's and was lucky again: They upgraded my rental and I received a big Seat Ibiza where all my suitcases including golf bag surely fit in!

Ich fuhr los Richtung Süden über die Vasco da Gama Brücke und es zeigte 25 Grad an: Endlich war ich im Frühling angekommen! Nach ca. 80 km auf der Autobahn nahm ich die Ausfahrt in Alcacer do Sal und fuhr weitere 50 km durch ein wunderschönes Dünen-Naturreservat einer Halbinsel entlang bis nach Troia, wo ich gestern Abend im Internet ein nettes Hotel und einer der schönsten Golfplätze Portugals entdeckt hatte.

I took the road direction south over the Vasco da Gama Bridge and it showed 25 centigrade on my display: Finally I had arrived in spring! After about 80 km on highways I took the exit of Alcacer do Sal and drove another 50 km through a beautiful dunes' natural reserve along a peninsula to Troia where I had discovered a nice hotel and one of the most beautiful golf courses in Portugal when investigating in the web last night.

Um 17:30 Uhr traf ich im Golfplatz Troia im äussersten Zipfel der Halbinsel ein und informierte mich über die Spielmöglichkeiten für morgen. Die liebenswürdige Sofia bot mir ein t-time für 14 Uhr zu einem Spezialpreis an! Nun brauchte ich nur noch ein Hotel und fuhr zum Hotel Soltroia (http://www.hotelsoltroia.com), nur gerade 5 Minuten vom Golfplatz entfernt. Dort hatte Katty aus Belgien, mit der ich schon e-mail Kontakt hatte, das letzte Zimmer für mich frei gehalten, das ich kurz vor 18 Uhr bezog - einfach fantastisch!

At 5:30 pm I arrived at the Troia golf course at the utmost point of the peninsula and informed myself about playing tomorrow. Lovely Sofia offered me t-time at 2 pm for a special price! All I needed now was a hotel, so I drove to the Hotel Soltroia (http://www.hotelsoltroia.com), only 5 minutes drive from the golf course. There I met Katty from Belgium with whom I had already had e-mail contact and who had reserved the last room for me - just fantastic!

Nachdem ich mich in meinem stilvollen Zimmer eingerichtet und dem Strand vor dem Hotel einen kurzen Besuch abgestattet hatte, fuhr ich kurz vor 20 Uhr in die Marina von Troia. Dort zog mich das Restaurant Ribamar magisch an, wo draussen frische Fische in einer Vitrine und drinnen Langusten und Spinnenkrabben in einem Vivarium warteten... Ich bestellte zur Vorspeise einen Crevetten-Avocado Salat und als Hauptspeise eine Krabbenspinne, die Spezialität aus der Gegend - ein Gedicht! (Seit ich in Patagonien, Chile, war, ist die Krabbenspinne zu meiner Leibspeise avanciert!)

After having installed myself in my stylish room and having paid a short visit to the beach just next to the hotel, I drove to the marina of Troia shortly before 8 pm. The Restaurant Ribamar attracted me magically with its fresh fish outside in a showcase and its lobsters and spider crabs inside in a vivarium... I ordered a shrimp-avocado salad for a starter and a my main course was a spider crab, the specialty of the region - just divine! (Since I was in Patagonia, Chile, the spider crab has advanced to my favourite meal!)
