Heute Morgen schlief ich bis 10 Uhr als mich der Wecker aus meinem tiefen Schlaf riss... kein Wunder, gestern wurde es ziemlich spät, da ich mich noch lange mit Pedro, meinem Bootstour Führer unterhalten hatte. Nur wenige Minuten später genoss ich schon ein herrliches Frühstück.

This morning the alarm clock woke me out of my deep sleep at 10 am... no wonder, because it got quite late last night as I had long and nice conversations with Pedro, my boat trip guide. But only minutes later I enjoyed a delicious breakfast.

Bevor es heute Nachmittag auf meine 5. Runde Golf hier in Portugal ging, widmete ich mich nochmals verdauend der bräunenden Sonne am Pool. Die Temperaturen stiegen diese Woche nicht mehr auf 30 Grad sondern blieben immer so bei sehr angenehmen 25.

Kurz nach 14 Uhr fuhr ich die 10 km und Minuten zum Golfplatz Quinta da Ria (http://www.quintadaria.com), wo ich per e-mail bei Henrique t-time reserviert hatte. Die Twilight Angebote lohnen sich wirklich -nicht nur die Green Fees sind bedeutend günstiger sondern auch die Temperaturen ideal zum Spielen.

Before I went to play golf for the 5th time here in Portugal I dedicated myself to the lovely tanning sun digesting my big breakfast. This week temperatures didn't climb to 30 centigrade but stayed around pleasant 25.

Shortly after 2 pm I drove the 10 km and minutes to the Golf Quinta da Ria (http://www.quintadaria.com), where I had booked t-time by e-mail with Henrique. The twilight deals are really worth while - not only because the green fees are significantly cheaper but also because the temperature are ideal for playing golf.

Um 15 Uhr schlug ich ab und die ersten 9 Loch des absolut wunderschönen Platzes hatte ich schon nach 1 1/2 Stunden hinter mir. Danach staute es etwas, aber mit der traumhaften Aussicht war das nicht weiter schlimm… und so hatte ich Zeit viele Fotos zu schiessen! ; ) Dass auch dieser Golfplatz in einem top Zustand war, muss ich wohl nicht mehr erwähnen, dafür aber, dass er mit ziemlich vielen Wasserhindernissen bestückt ist, die meine Bälle magisch anzuziehen schienen… : ( Sonst war ich mehr als zufrieden mit meinem Spiel, vor allem mit meinen weiten und sicheren Drives und ich spielte sogar 3 Par! Yeahhh!!!

At 3 pm I drove off and after 1 1/2 hour I had already played the first 9 holes on that absolutely gorgeous course. Thereafter it piled up a bit, but no problem with the breathtaking view…. and like this I had time to take a lot of pictures! ; ) I think I don't need to mention that also this course was in top condition, but what I have to add is that there are a lot of water hazards which seemed to attract my balls magically! : ( But all in all I was more than happy with my game, especially with my long and secure drives and I even played 3 pars! Yeahhh!!!

Marisqueira Fabrica do Costa

Als ich um 19 Uhr (fix und) fertig war, fuhr ich die paar Kilometer bis fast zur spanischen Grenze alles der Küste entlang auf der Suche nach dem perfekten Restaurant für mein letztes Abendessen in den Algarven... welches ich in der Marisqueira Fabrica do Costa fand, die mir Matilde empfohlen hatte. Ich wählte eine Dorade aus der Vitrine, die mir grilliert mit viel Gemüse und einem Salat serviert wurde - herrlich! Dazu hatte ich anregende Gespräche mit meinen Tischnachbarn Mereta und Eivind aus Oslo.

Bevor ich zu Bett ging, hatte ich einen Schlummertrunk in der Hotelbar und lud meinen Post von heute ins Netz.

When I was done (in) I drove the few kilometers along the coast almost to the Spanish border in search of the perfect restaurant to have my last dinner in the Algarves... which I found in the Marisqueira Fabrica do Costa, recommended by Matilde. I chose a gilthead from the showcase which was served grilled with lots of vegetables and a side salad. While having it I had inspiring conversations with Mereta and Eivind from Oslo sitting at the table next to me.

Before I went to bed I had one for the road at the hotel bar and uploaded my post of today onto the web.
