Heute habe ich fast bis 9 Uhr geschlafen… eine halbe Stunde später war ich beim Frühstück mit herrlicher Aussicht und 'meinem' Brot!

Today I slept almost until 9 am… half an hour later I sat at breakfast with a wonderful view and 'my' bread'!

Danach widmete ich mich der Sonne am Strand. Es war ein weiterer heisser Tag um 30 Grad, aber direkt am Meer mit einer Brise war es echt gut auszuhalten!

Thereafter I addressed myself to the sun at the beach. It was another hot day with around 30 centigrade, but with a breeze at the ocean it was well sustainable!

Nach einer erfrischenden Dusche fuhr ich um 14:30 Uhr los zum Oceanico Old Course Vilamoura Golfplatz (http://www.oceanicogolf.com/our-courses/portugal-the-algarve/oceanico-old-course/course-overview.html), der 20 km Richtung östlich von Albufeira liegt. Albufeira scheint der ideale Ausgangspunkt um Golfspielen zu sein, denn es hat mindestens 8 Golfplätze, die innerhalb einer halben Stunde erreichbar sind! Diesmal traf ich zur Abwechslung einmal etwas früh ein und hatte so noch Zeit in aller Ruhe auf der Terrasse einen doppelten Espresso zu geniessen bevor es losging...

After a refreshing shower I took the road to the Oceanico Old Course Vilamoura (http://www.oceanicogolf.com/our-courses/portugal-the-algarve/oceanico-old-course/course-overview.html), 20 km east of Albufeira at 2:30 pm. Albufeira seems to be the perfect place for playing golf as there are at least 8 golf courses which can be reached within half an hour! This time for once I arrived there early so that I had time to enjoy a double espresso before driving off...

Um 15:30 Uhr schlug ich mit Julian aus Nordengland und Gerard aus Irland ab. Julian lud mich auf seinen Cart und wir hatten viel Spass auf diesem wunderschönen aber sehr anspruchsvollen Platz, den viele alte Bäume säumen. Auch diese Anlage war in einem top Zustand, nur die grossen Bäume standen uns ab und zu im Weg! ; ) Es war schön einmal in Gesellschaft zu spielen und auch von der Zeit her ideal, denn die grösste Hitze war definitiv vorüber! Wir brauchten 4 1/2 Stunden um die 18 Loch zu spielen, ich spielte sehr gut und imponierte meine beiden single Handicap Spieler gleich am Anfang mit einem Par! Übrigens bezahlt man hier ab 15:30 Uhr den Twilight Preis von EUR 79.

At 3:30 pm I started the round with Julian from northern England and Gerard from Ireland. Julian invited me on his cart and we had lots of fun on this beautiful but very demanding golf course surrounded by hundreds of old trees! Again this course was in perfect condition, only some of the big trees stood in our way! ; ) It was nice to play in company for a change and the timing was ideal as the big heat was definitely over! It took us 4 1/2 hours to finish the 18 holes, I played very well and impressed my single handicap players starting with a par! By the way, at 3:30 pm the twilight price of EUR 79 applies.

Nach einem Drink im Golfrestaurant wurde es doch spät und da ich sehr hungrig war beschloss ich in der Marina de Vilamoura essen zu gehen. Dort war richtig etwas los und ich hatte die Qual der Wah. Aber als ich mich endlich entschieden hatte, sagte mir der Kellner doch tatsächlich, dass ich in diesem Restaurant lieber keinen Fisch essen soll und er empfahl mir das O Cesteiro... das ist mir doch noch nie passiert! Aber der Tipp war Gold wert und ich konnte gleich beim Eingang meinen Red Snapper aus der Vitrine wählen! Ich genoss ein super Abendessen mich Aussicht auf die Marina...

After a drink at the golf restaurant it was already quite late and I felt hungry that's why I decided to go for dinner at the marina of Vilamoura. There was a lot going on and I was spoilt for choice. But when I finally had made my choice, the waiter indeed told me not to have fish in this restaurant and suggested the O Cesteiro... this had never happened before to me! But the hint was worth a mint and I could choose my red snapper from the showcase at the entrance! I had an excellent dinner with view to the marina...
