heute Morgen weckte mich der Wecker und um 9:30 Uhr sass ich beim Frühstück mit
herrlicher Aussicht auf die Bucht von Cascais. Mein letzter Tag hier in
Portugal war angebrochen und ich hatte vor ihn in Lissabon zu verbringen -
ideal, denn draussen erwartete mich ein stahlblauer Himmel bei nur noch 20
Grad.
This morning again the alarm clock woke me up and 9:30 am I sat at
breakfast with a terrific view over the bay of Cascais. My last day here in Portugal
had dawned and I intended to spend it in Lisbon - ideal, as outside a steel-blue
sky was awaiting me with only 20 centigrade.
Um 12 Uhr
war ich endlich bereit den Weg der Küste entlang Richtung Lissabon anzutreten,
zuerst fuhr ich aber eine kurze Strecke nach Westen nach Guincho. Dort am Cabo
da Roca konnte ich kaum zum Auto aussteigen so extrem windig war es! Ich tat es
doch um ein Foto der wilden Küste zu schiessen und war in Windeseile abgeschminkt
- all meine Bemühungen heute Morgen waren umsonst! ; )
At noon I finally was ready to hit the road along the coast direction
Lisbon, but first I drove a short stretch direction east to Guincho. There at
the Cabo da Roca I hardly could leave my car that extremely hard blew the wind!
But I did it to take a picture of the wild coast and my make-up was removed with
lightning speed - all my endeavours this
morning were for nothing! ; )

Danach
ging es alles der Küste entlang Richtung Osten und ich machte meinen nächsten
Halt in Belem, wo ich den Torre de Belem und das Denkmal der Entdeckungen,
sowie den Ponte 25 de Abril und den Cristo-Rei auf der andern Seite des Tejo
ablichtete.
Thereafter I took the road along the coast direction east and my next
stop was in Belem, where I shot pictures of Torre de Belem, the monument of the
discoveries as well as of the Ponte 25 de Abril and Cristo-Rei on the other
side of the Tejo.

Um 14 Uhr
erreichte ich das Zentrum von Lissabon und auch meinen perfekten gratis
Parkplatz direkt am Tejo und am Praca do Comercio, wo ich mich gleich im eines
der vielen Restaurants auf dem riesigen Platz setzte. Danach kraxelte ich hoch
zum Castelo Sao Jorge, von wo man eine fantastische Aussicht auf Lissabon hat.
Dann ging es alles wieder runter und ich schlenderte der Baixa (Unterstadt)
entlang bis es wieder langsam dem noblem Viertel Chiado entlang aufwärts auf
den nächsten Hügel ins Bairro Alto (hohes Viertel) ging. Ganz erschöpfte von
meinen (Berg-)Wanderungen, setzte ich mich in die coole Tapas-Bar 52 und genoss
meinen letzten Vinho Verde...
At 2 pm I arrived at the centre of Lisbon and my perfect free parking
spot directly at the Tejo and Praca do Comercio where I went for one of the restaurants
at the huge square. Thereafter I scrambled up to the Castelo Sao Jorge from
where I had a fantastic view to Lisbon. After going all the way down again, I had
a stroll along the Baixa (lower town) until it slowly went up again to the next
hill through the posh quarter of Chiado to the Bairro Alto (hight quarter).
Totally exhausted of my (mountain) hikes I had my last vinho verde in the cool
Tapas-Bar 52…

Eigentlich
hatte ich vor in einem der hübschen Fado Restaurants im Bairro Alto in Lissabon
zu Abend essen, aber ich war einfach zu früh dran... Und da ich keine Lust
hatte 2 Stunden zu warten und es wegen dem Trinken und Fahren eh ratsamer war
beschloss ich zurück nach Cascais zu fahren… mit einem kurzen Boxenstopp beim
Mosteiro dos Jeronimos in Belem, wo Könige und auch Vasco da Gama begraben
liegen.
Actually I intended to have dinner in one of the pretty Fado Restaurants
in the Bairro Alto in Lisbon, but I simply was too early… And because I didn’t fancy
waiting for 2 hours and it maybe even was better because of drinking and
driving, I decided to drive back to Cascais… with a short pit stop at the Mosteiro
dos Jeronimos in Belem, where kings and also Vasco da Gama are buried.

Um 20 Uhr
hatte ich meinen Mietwagen wieder sicher im Parkhaus unter dem Hotel Baia
parkiert. Ich entschied mein Abendessen im eleganten Hotelrestaurant einzunehmen
und einen Lobster aus dem Aquarium zu erlösen - welch eine leckere
Henkersmahlzeit zum Abschluss meiner absolut genialen Reise!

At 8 pm my rental car
was parked safely back in the covered car park underneath the Baia hotel. I
decided to have dinner at the elegant hotel restaurant and release one of the
lobsters from the aquarium – what a delicious last supper at the end of my absolutely
brilliant journey!
