22.04.2013 Albufeira - Tavira
Heute Morgen erwachte ich schon vor 8 Uhr und begann
schon mal meine Koffer zu packen bevor ich nochmals eine Stunde dem langen
Strand entlang joggen ging. Ich konnte mich zwar nicht überwinden im kalten
Atlantik schwimmen zu gehen, dafür konnte ich den vielen schönen Muscheln nicht
widerstehen... zum Glück fliege ich Business Klasse, so kommt es auf ein paar
Kilo mehr nicht an! ; )
Danach genoss ich noch einmal 'mein' Brot (ich denke es wird aus Sauerteig hergestellt) mit einer letzten herrlichen Aussicht (heute Richtung Marina) und recherchierte im Internet nach Hotels und Golfplätzen um Tavira im Südosten der Algarven.
This morning I woke
up already before 8 am and started to pack my bags before I went for an hour’s run
along the long beach. I couldn’t bring myself to go for a swim in the Atlantic,
instead I couldn’t resist all the beautiful shells laying on the beach…
fortunately I fly business class, therefore it doesn’t matter if I push my luck taking
some kilos more with me! ; )
Thereafter I enjoyed
a last time ‘my‘ bread (I think it is made of fermenting dough) with a last
terrific view (today direction marina) and investigated hotels and golf courses
around Tavira in the south east of the Algarves.

Um 12 Uhr war ich bereit für die Abreise Richtung Osten
bei angenehmen 25 Grad und Schleierwolken. Genau richtig um eine Stunde später
in Faro der wunderschönen Altstadt einen Besuch abzustatten, alle Geschäfte
abzuklappern und in einem coolen Café etwas Vitamine zu mir zu nehmen...
At noon I was ready
for departure direction east with comfortable 25 centigrade and cirrostratus
clouds. Just right to visit the beautiful old part of Faro an hour later, shop around and have some vitamins in a hip café…

2 Stunden später fuhr ich weiter dem Parque Natural da
Ria Formosa entlang - eine ganz anderen Gegend als die bisherigen bizarren
Felsformationen: Eine flache Moorlandschaft mit vielen kleinen Inseln tat sich
auf!
2 hours later I drove
on along the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa – a completely different region than
before with the bizarre rock formations: A flat moor landscape with lots of
little islands opened up!

Um 16:30 Uhr kam ich im Eco-Hotel Vila Galé Albacora (www.vilagale.pt/pages/hoteis/?hotel=4)
an, das etwas ausserhalb von Tavira mitten im Moor liegt – wunderschön! Es war
ursprünglich ein Fischerdorf, wo 150 Familien lebten und nach Thun fischten.
Ich bezog mein Zimmer mit Sicht auf die Ria Formosa, richtete mich ein und
beschloss dann das 5 Minuten entfernte Städtchen Tavira zu erkunden...
schliesslich war heute ja mein Shopping-Tag!
At 4:30 pm I arrived
at the Eco-Hotel Vila Galé Albacora (www.vilagale.pt/pages/hoteis/?hotel=4)
which is situated just outside of Tavira in midst of the marsh – gorgeous! Originally
it was a fishermen’s village where 150 families lived fishing for tuna. I
installed myself in my room with view to the Ria Formosa and decided thereafter
to explore the little town of Tavira only 5 minutes away… it was my shopping
day after all!

Und genau so war es, auch hier hielt ich schon bald Säcke
mit Einkäufen in den Händen, die ich zwischen dem Bestaunen des überaus
hübschen Ortes tätigte.
Schon bald fühlte ich mich ziemlich müde und setzte mich kurz nach 19 Uhr in die Marisqueira Mares am Rio Gilão und genoss eine frische Dorade und dazu einen Vinho Verde (wie fast immer).
Bevor ich endgültig in die Federn kroch, besuchte ich noch die Hotelbar und bestellte einen auch schon obligat gewordenen Portwein... da es aber sehr gute live Musik hatte, dauerte mein Auftenthalt dort doch länger als geplant…

And exactly that’s how
it went; here again only minutes passed and I held bags of shopping items in my
hands which I purchased among marveling at the utmost pretty place.
But soon after around 7 pm I felt
quite tired and sat down at the Marisqueira Mares along the Rio Gilão where I had a fresh seabream including a vinho verde (like almost
all the times).
Before I finally hit the sack I visited the hotel bar and ordered an
already becoming an obligatory port wine… but because the live music was that
good my stay was much longer than planned…
