Heute Morgen erwachte ich schon vor 8 Uhr und eine halbe
Stunde später joggte ich bereits am langen und breiten Strand Praia Sao Roque entlang.
Gleich vor dem Hotel führt eine Fussgängerbrücke zur Marina und Strand - ideal!
Als ich eine Stunde später zurück ins Hotel kam ging ich erst einmal ausgiebig
frühstücken und machte mich danach gemütlich bereit für die Weiterreise.
This morning I woke up just before 8 am and half an hour later I was already jogging along the long and wide beach of Praia Sao Roque. Right in front of the hotel there is a pedestrian bridge leading to the marina and the beach – ideal! When I got back to the hotel an hour later I first went to have an extensive breakfast and thereafter took my time to get ready for the continuation of my trip.

Als ich um 12 Uhr auscheckte, beschloss ich zuerst ein
Spezialgeschäft für meine Kamera aufzusuchen, da sie nicht immer funktioniert,
wenn ich es will... Leider konnte mir niemand weiterhelfen, nur mit dem
Ratschlag damit nach Lissabon zu gehen! : ( Auf dem Rückweg passierte ich
Boote, die einstündige Fahrten zu den Grotten anboten - genau das Richtige um
auf andere Gedanken zu kommen und meine Kamera nochmals so richtig
herauszufordern! Und wie man sehen kann, habe ich trotz allem viele Fotos
geschossen! ; )
When I checked out at noon I decided first to look for a specialist shop for my camera as it still didn’t work the way I wanted… Unfortunately nobody could help me, except with the advice to take it to Lisbon! : ( On the way back I passed some boats which offered trips to the grottoes – exactly the right thing to blow the cobwebs away and to really challenge my camera once again! And as you might have noticed, I shot lots of pictures in spite of it all! ; )

Kurz vor 14 Uhr war ich dann endlich bereit meine
Weiterreise Richtung Osten anzutreten. Es war wieder ein sehr heisser Tag mit
ca. 30 Grad, so fuhr ich mit allen Fenstern offen los, da ich Klimaanlagen
nicht mag und auch schlecht vertrage! Unterwegs stattete ich der Praia da Rocha
in Portimao, Ferragudo und dem malerischen Ort Corvoeiro einen Besuch ab bevor ich die
Suche nach einem Hotel in Albufeira begann. Dieses Städtchen ist seit 1999 zu
einer Stadt mutiert und war für mich kaum wiederzuerkennen!
Shortly before 2 pm I
was finally ready to hit the roads towards east. It was another hot day with
about 30 centigrade, that’s why I drove off with all my windows open because I don’t
like and also don’t live in harmony with air-conditioners! On the way I visited
the Praia da Rocha in Portimao, Ferragudo and the picturesque village of Corvoeiro before
I started my search for a hotel in Albufeira. This little town had mutated to a
big town since 1999 and I hardly had recognized it!

Um 17 Uhr entschloss ich mich im 2. Hotel, das ich mir
ansah, ein Zimmer für 4 Nächte zu mieten: Im Hotel Sol e Mar (http://www.hotelsolmar.net). Die Lage ist absolut
genial: Mitten in der Altstadt auf den Klippen über dem Strand Praia Pneco, der
per Lift zu erreichen ist. Mein Zimmer ist zwar eher einfach aber sehr geräumig
mit Balkon hoch über dem Strand und Meer und mit Badewanne – und das alles für
EUR 45 inkl. Frühstück! An der Reception buchte mir Jorge t-time für den
Oceanico Old Course Vilamoura morgen, den angeblich schönsten Golfplatz der Algarven.
Also konnte ich mich nun endlich in Ruhe einrichten und mich meinen Ferien
widmen... ; )
At 5 pm I decided to
take a room for 4 nights at the second hotel I looked at: The Hotel Sol e Mar (http://www.hotelsolmar.net). Its location is absolutely superb: In midst of the
historic centre on the cliffs over the beach Praia Pneco which is accessible by
elevator. My room is rather standard but very spacious with a balcony high over
the beach and the ocean and with a bathtub – and all for EUR 45 incl.
breakfast! At the reception Jorge booked me t-time for tomorrow at the
Oceanico Old Course Vilamoura, allegedly the most beautiful golf course in the Algarves.
Thus I could install myself in peace and finally start enjoying my vacation… ;
)

Um 19:30 Uhr nahm ich den Lift zum Strand, setzte mich
auf die Terrasse des Restaurants Esplanada do Tunel und bestellte einen vinho
verde (fast wie ein Prosecco - hatte ihn eher sauer in Erinnerung!). Zum Essen
hatte ich wie immer einen gegrillten Fisch, diesmal eine Seebrasse, und so genoss
ich den milden Abend mit Meeresrauschen.
Den Portwein nahm ich in der eleganten Hotelbar mit live Musik, schrieb meinen Post von heute und bearbeitete meine vielen Fotos...

At 7:30 pm I took the elevator down to the beach, sat at a table on the terrace of the Restaurant Esplanada do Tunel and ordered a vinho verde (almost like a prosecco – in my memory I recalled it more sour!). For dinner I had a grilled fish like always, but this time a sea brass, and so I enjoyed the mild evening with the sound of the ocean.
I had the port wine at the elegant hotel bar with live music, where I wrote my post of today and edited all my photos I took today…
