Heute
Morgen ging ich um 9 Uhr vor dem Frühstück eine Stunde joggen: Zuerst auf den
steilen Klippen, dann am Strand entlang und zum Schluss noch einmal die Klippen
hinauf bis zum Fortaleza de Sagres. Ein stahlblauer Himmel lud mich dazu ein
und es war schon richtig warm.
This morning at 9 am before breakfast I went for an hours’ run: First on
the steep cliffs, then along the beach and at the end back up on the cliffs to
the Fortaleza de Sagres. A clear blue sky invited me and it was already very
warm.

Um 10 Uhr
war ich zurück im Pousada und begab mich gleich zum Frühstück ans riesige
Buffet – mit Champagner, den ich mir zur Feier des Tages genehmigte!
At 10 am I was back at the pousada and went directly for breakfast at
the huge buffet – with champagne, I indulged in to mark the occasion!

Kurz vor
13 Uhr verliess ich die Pousada und besuchte die Festung Fortaleza de Sagres
aus dem 15. Jahrhundert mit seiner 43 m grossen Windrose.
Shortly before 1 pm I left the pousada and visited the fortress
Fortaleza de Sagres of the 15th century with its wind rose measuring
43 m diameter.

Eine
Stunde später traf ich am südwestlichsten Punkt Portugals ein, dem Cabo de Sao
Vicente mit seinem Leuchtturm.
An hour later I reached the utmost southwestern point of Portugal, the
Cabo de Sao Vicente with its light house.

Danach
fuhr ich alles der Südküste entlang Richtung Osten und stattete den hübschen
Strände von Figueira, Salema und Luz einen Besuch ab. Es war ein sehr heisser
Tag mit 28 Grad und mir fiel auf, dass seit 1999 an der Küste sehr viel mehr dazu gebaut
worden war…
Thereafter I drove all along the south coast direction east and paid a
visit to the pretty beaches of Figueira, Salema and Luz. It was a very hot day
with about 28 centigrade and I noticed that since 1999 lot of buildings more
had been constructed along the coast…

Um 16 Uhr
fuhr ich beim Golfplatz Onyria Palmares vorbei und da er recht einladend auf
mich wirkte, buchte ich gleich t-time für morgen. Darauf schlenderte ich durch
das 10 Minuten entfernt liegende Städtchen Lagos – immer schön im Schatten!
At 4 pm I passed the golf course Onyria Palmares and because it looked
quite appealing to me, I reserved t-time for tomorrow. Thereafter I took a
stroll through the little town of Lagos, only 10 minutes away – trying to seek shade!

Danach fuhr ich die ca. 15 km zurück nach Salema wo ich um 18:30
Uhr bei Marc in Salema eintraf, den ich heute Nachmittag auf dem Wanderweg
zum Strand von Figueira getroffen hatte. Er rief mich später an und lud mich zu
sich ein. Da ich immer offen für eine Abwechslung bin, nahm ich diese Einladung
gerne an und schon bald waren wir bei Gin und Tonic in sehr interessante
Gespräche verwickelt. Marc ist aus Südengland und verbringt die Winter hier in
Portugal.
Thereafter I drove back to Salema approx. 15 km and arrived at Marc’s place at 7:30 pm, who I had met this afternoon on
the hiking path to the beach of Figueira. He called me later on and invited me
over. Because I am always open for a nice change, I accepted the invitation and
soon we were involved in very interesting conversations having some gin and
tonics. Marc is from South England and spends his winters here in Portugal.

Um 20:30
Uhr fuhren wir ins Dorf zum Restaurant O Buzio, wo wir bei einem herrlichen
Essen und Wein unsere Gespräche weiterführten. Da wir etwas getrunken hatten,
war es ratsamer die Nacht in Marcs Gästezimmer zu verbringen – vielen Dank!

At 8:30 pm we drove to the village and had a delicious dinner and wine
at the restaurant O Buzio where we continued our chats. As we had drunk
it was advisable to spend the night in Marc’s guest room – thanks a lot!
