Wieder
habe ich fantastisch geschlafen bis mich der Wecker um 9:30 Uhr aus meinen
Träumen holte. Kurz darauf befand ich mich beim Frühstück, das ich eine
geschlagene Stunde genoss.
Again I slept very well and long until the alarm clock tore me out of my
dreams at 9:30 am. Only minutes later I was at breakfast which I enjoyed for a
full hour.

Danach
war Packen angesagt und um 11:30 Uhr war ich bereit für meine Weiterreise
Richtung Süden. Der Himmel war bewölkt aber bereits 30 km und Minuten später
herrschte schon wieder eitler Sonnenschein!
Thereafter I had to pack my bags and at 11:30 am I was ready to hit the
roads direction south. It was overcast but only 30 km and minutes later there
was nothing but bright sunshine!

Soweit es
ging, fuhr ich alles der wunderschönen aber dramatischen Westküste entlang und besuchte
alle Orte, die Katty mir empfohlen hatte – danke! Der wilde Atlantik wartete
mit enormen Wellen auf, die keinen Surfer einzuladen schienen...
As far as possible I drove all along the pretty but dramatic west coast
and visited all the places Katty had suggested to – thanks a lot! The wild
Atlanic Ocean put forward enormous waves which seemed not to invite a single
surfer…

In der
malerischen Altstadt von Sines kletterte ich auf die Burgruinen und als ich ein
Foto mit Selbstauslöser schiessen wollte, fiel die Kamera herunter… Ich hatte
Glück: Nur der Akkuverschluss trug einen Schaden davon! In Vila Nova de
Milfontes wurde er von einem hilfsbereiten Juwelier geleimt als ich einen
verlorenen Ohrsteckerverschluss kaufte - denn weit und breit war kein
Fotofachgeschäft zu finden.
Dies ist übrigens mein 5. Mal in Portugal. Das erste Mal verbrachte ich 2 Wochen mit meiner Tochter Melanie und meiner Mutter in den Algarven, ebenfalls im April jedoch 1999! Das Alentejo zwischen Lissabon und Sagres ist fast das Einzige, das ich noch nicht kannte bisher.
In the picturesque historic town of Sines I climbed up the ruins of the
castle and when I wanted to shoot a picture with the self timer, the camera
fell down… I was lucky: Only the shutter of the battery bore the damage! In
Vila Nova de Milfontes it was glued by a helpful jeweller when I replaced a
lost fastener of one of my earrings – as far and wide no specialist shop for
cameras was to be found.
By the way, this is my 5th time in Portugal. The first time I spent 2
weeks with my daughter Melanie and my mum in the Algarves, also in April but
in 1999! The Alentejo between Lisbon and Sagres is almost the only part I didn’t
know up to now.

Die
Menukarte und das Restaurant wirkten so ansprechend auf mich, dass ich mich
beschloss die ehrwürdige Pousada gar nicht mehr zu verlassen! Ich genoss einen
Seeteufel mit Crevetten, einen herrlichen Weisswein und zum Dessert die
Badewanne - welch ein Genuss!

The menu card and the restaurant appealed to me in the way that I
decided not to leave the venerable pousada! I enjoyed a monkfish with prawns, a delicious white wine and for desert the bathtub – what a treat!
